Freelance

Websites that earn their keep.

Weekdays I am a senior frontend developer at GrowthOps, building for banking, telco and insurance clients. Alongside that I take on a limited number of freelance projects for small businesses and teams — the same standards, sized to a budget that makes sense at that scale.

In detail

What each package includes

Fixed scope, fixed price, agreed before any work starts. Add-ons are priced separately so the base package stays predictable.

03How it works

Four steps, no mystery

You always know what happens next, what it costs and when it lands.

  1. 01

    Conversation

We talk about the business before the website. What you sell, who buys it, and what the site actually needs to do. If a smaller package will do the job, I will say so.

  2. 02

    Scope and quote

You get a written scope, a fixed price and a delivery date. No hourly surprises, no line items you did not agree to.

  3. 03

    Design and build

I design in the browser and share a live preview link early, so you are reviewing the real thing rather than a picture of it.

  4. 04

    Launch and handover

Deployment, analytics, and a walkthrough of how to update your own content. You own the domain, the hosting account and the code.

04How it is built

Boring choices, on purpose

Nothing here is experimental. The stack is the one large teams use, sized down to a project you can afford to maintain.

  • Fast by default

Static rendering, optimised images and a small JavaScript payload. Speed is a feature your visitors feel before they read a word.

  • Accessible, not just compliant

Semantic markup, real keyboard support and honest colour contrast, held to the standard regulated clients ask for. It is the same work that makes a site rank and read well.

  • Yours to keep

Your domain, your hosting, your repository. No proprietary builder you have to keep paying me to touch.

  • Plain language

Scope, cost and timeline in words you can act on. If something is a bad idea for your budget, I will tell you before you spend it.

05Side by side

Comparing the packages

Scope, timeline and price are fixed per package. Ringgit is the real figure; switch to dollars and you get the same work converted at roughly RM 4.30, confirmed before you commit.

The Starter Landing Page never goes past RM 500. If a project needs more sections, motion or custom UI, it belongs in the Pro Landing Page and I will say so. Work that does not fit a package — small changes, fixes, audits — is RM 150 – RM 235$35 – $55 an hour.

06Questions

The things people ask first

How do you charge?

A fixed price per project, taken from the published package ranges and confirmed in writing before any work starts. Typically half up front and half on launch. Add-ons are priced separately and anything outside the agreed scope is quoted first, so nothing appears on an invoice you did not approve.

Why are the prices a range?

The range covers how much design and content work a package needs. A one-page site with your copy ready sits at the bottom of the range; the same page with custom sections and motion sits at the top. You get the exact figure before you commit, not after.

Do you charge differently outside Malaysia?

No. The ringgit figure is the real price and the dollar figure is the same work converted at roughly RM 4.30. Add-ons cost the same wherever you are. Only the payment method changes.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee?

No. A static site on a free hosting tier usually costs nothing to run beyond your domain. You only pay monthly if you choose a paid CMS, a mail service or an ongoing maintenance retainer.

Can I update the site myself?

Yes, on the Business package and above. You get a content editor and a walkthrough of how to use it. On the landing page packages, small text changes can be handled as a quick add-on.

Who owns the site when it is finished?

You do. The domain, the hosting account and the source code are all registered to you. You can take the project to another developer at any time.

What do you need from me to start?

A clear idea of what the site is for, your logo and images if you have them, and the text for each page. If the writing is the blocker, I can help draft it.

Do you work with clients outside Malaysia?

Yes. Most of the work happens over email and video calls, so time zone is the only real constraint.

You have a full-time job. Will my project actually get attention?

It is the reason I quote conservative timelines rather than optimistic ones. I take on a limited number of freelance projects at a time, and the delivery date you get already accounts for the day job. If a deadline is tighter than I can commit to honestly, I will tell you up front instead of missing it later.

Ready when you are

Not sure which one you need?

Describe the business in a few sentences and I will tell you which package fits, including when the cheaper one is the right answer.
